Alphie Ali | Copywriter

Hi, I’m Alphie!

I'm a conceptual creative and copywriter with 14+ years of experience crafting insight-driven campaigns for high-profile brands and budding behemoths alike — across tradigital, social, experiential, branding and PR.

I have experience managing cross-functional teams, leading projects from ideation through execution, and effectively directing copy and production phases.

My superpowers include bringing provocative, non-traditional ideas to the table, winning new business pitches, and leveraging emerging technologies to engage a wide range of audiences on a visceral level.

MY ORIGIN STORY

I once took the stage at a career fair and very publicly proclaimed that I wanted to become a WWF wrestler. Not long after, my mom signed me up for a library card and my dad brought home our first computer.

Fast forward through an early existential crisis (or two), and you have an ad man with a knack for storytelling and an innate curiosity for most things tech.

I had no idea that being able to elicit a range of reactions in strangers with nothing more than a pen and some paper was a low-key superpower — that would eventually become my bread and salted butter.

SOME "FUN" FACTS,

FOR FUN.

I was born in Kuwait to Indian parents and grew into my late 30s in half a dozen countries. I can hold up a conversation in nearly as many languages while being able to mouth off in a few others, but I always dream in English.

I was premed, but gave up on my parents' dreams of having a doctor in the family because the dopamine rush from solving creative problems can’t be beat. Also, they sometimes have beer (on tap) at work.

I’ve been to 50+ countries to find myself. I’m still looking, but I've discovered that people are the same everywhere — just nuanced with cultural flavor. I also took loads of photos, filled my tummy with yummy, and made forever friends.

I’ve done reckless things like jump off bridges and airplanes, climb the largest of the pyramids in Giza, wrestle a baby elephant, and run a bootleg cocktail club — all before anyone ever said YOLO.

I’ve lived through two wars and I'm an always-on dad to 3 wildlings under 5, which means I can bask in beautiful chaos and still wake up smiling the next day. Make of that what you will.
